At the RCM, her exceptional record of success typified by her creative, energetic and positive approach, can be tracked through the development of the Singing From Scratch program for adult beginners; as founding music director of three RCM choirs: Vox Continental, RCM Lyric Singers and RCM Silver Singers; and as founding administrative, creative & music director for RCM music theatre programs: Summer Music Theatre Workshop Camps for Teens (The Company) and Children (The Young Company); and Music Theatre Workshop for Adults -- Beginner Level and The Ensemble – often writing original plays to provide a unique and ensemble-designed forum for the players to develop and perform within.
Linda is a member of the Ontario Registered Teachers’ Association (ORMTA), Central Toronto Branch.
Linda has been a regular vocal coach for the Drama Department of the University of Toronto at Scarborough and has provided vocal training for film and television. She also acts as singing workshop clinician and festival and competition adjudicator. She has been a featured guest on CBC Radio’s Fresh Air, CBC-TV’s Living In Toronto and TVOntario’s More To Life. Linda has been interviewed and featured in articles for The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star and Toronto Life magazine.
As part of the 2008 Luminato Festival of Arts and Creativity, Linda was selected as one of 1000 creative women living in Toronto in Pierre Maraval’s exhibition Toronto’s Mille Femmes.
Before turning her career to teaching, Linda spent over a decade singing professionally as a soloist in opera, operetta, oratorio, concert and chamber music with many leading performing ensembles. More recently, she was heard regularly with her chamber trio Resonance (with William Beauvais, guitar and Julian Knight, viola) premiering many new works by Toronto composers.
